The New Jersey Division of Consumer Protection has announced plans to introduce a new form of pain relief products, which will be available on the shelves of both pharmacy departments of both the Vioxx and Voltaren painkillers.

"Voltaren is the first product to enter the market with the potential for serious adverse reactions and potential for serious health problems to occur. The new product will be available without a prescription from the Vioxx and Voltaren painkillers and will be available at pharmacies nationwide from June 1," said Brian B. Sowers, Vioxx Chief Executive Officer. "With the new product, it will provide more affordable and effective pain relief to those suffering from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis."

Voltaren products are currently offered at a lower price than other painkillers. Vioxx and Voltaren are currently available only at pharmacies that offer the same quantity of the products. Both products require a valid prescription from a licensed health care professional.
